Irish-based travel website Hostelworld.com is to host its third annual Hostel conference on the 29th & 30th January in the Hilton Hotel, Charlemont Place, Dublin 2. More than 300 hostel owners and managers from across the world are expected to attend the event.
The theme of this year's conference is "Travel 2.0 in the Hostelling World". It will look at the development in social media and Travel 2.0 technologies and their impact on the marketing and distribution in the travel industry and will provide insights on how general trends in Web 2.0 are affecting online travel. Other topics covered will address environmental issues, PR, technology and statistics on youth tourism.
The conference is an event that offers hostel owners and managers an opportunity to discuss matters pertaining directly to their industry and listen to expert speakers on topics that matter to them. Speakers will include travel industry professionals, internet guru's, Hostelworld.com representatives, hostel owners and travel research experts.
In conjunction with the conference the Hoscars Award ceremony will take place in The Village in Dublin on Monday night (29th January). The awards recognise the world's top 10 hostels as voted for by those who are in the know, the Hostelworld.com customers.
