Nice hostel but lack of atmosphere. Staff is ok but not veeery good. Breakfast not included.

This is a BAR with rooms upstairs to go afterparty and should be advertised as that. Music is loud until 1:30 am and we were on 4th floor. People then go to the halls and talk and change to go to other bars, and then arrive at 5am again... So if you want to sleep, go to a real hostel
Thank you for your recent review. While it's great to see that you found the hostel to be a good value and secure, it disappoints to learn that you didn't enjoy your stay as much as most guests. As explained in our hostelworld description, Downtown is a social hostel with a lively bar downstairs where we host nightly events and parties to create an atmosphere where it's easy for guests to meet one another. That said we always close the bar at 11:30 pm in consideration for guests wanting to have a quiet night. Should guests be looking for a more mellow experience, we recommend out sister hostel - The Original - also located in Hanoi. Hope you've been enjoying the rest of your travels since leaving us. Very nice, clean, very good food, atmosphere. Staff is very nice. Have bikes for free and offer motorbike rental. Not crowded. Pool is very nice. Good wifi
