The Florian's Guesthouse
Since 2010 Florian's Guesthouse has provided a unique home style stay in North Albania.

As the first guesthouse in Northern Albania this is a special place and we are fortunate to have so many special people visit us. Our guests enjoy authentic and off-the-beaten-path experiences. We all share our stories over dinner and often make connections and new friends. In sharing travel experiences we often help our guests with their trips within Albania and neighboring countries.

The Guesthouse is located just beyond the city. Set within lush gardens adjacent to our own cultivated orchards and vineyards. It is a short walk or bike ride to the centre of Shkoder. (*bikes are available at no additional charge to your booking)

Florian started working in tourism in 2005. He worked with a Dutch company that arranged travel to the Balkans. Florian is an avid traveler. When he noticed there were no hostels or guesthouses in Albania, he pitched the idea to his family to create one. His parents loved the idea and they soon began hosting people from all over the world. The entire family wanted the world to see Albania and what 'she' has to offer; beautiful scenery, landscapes, the sea, authentic foods, wine, raki and more!

The Guesthouse uses a solar powered shower which is hottest from April to September and helps save the planet too. Our Guesthouse is very accessible for disabled people with limited mobility. There are no stairs and has well-lit flat paths, perfect for people in wheelchairs who preserve some upper body use.

We take the risks posed by Covid-19 very seriously. The health and welfare of our guests is our top priority, which is why all our staff wear masks and we disinfect the property regularly. The Guesthouse has a private doctor they can recommend located in Shkoder city centre.

There are free bikes for guests to use during their stay for exploring the city and local area. We also offer horseback riding and fishing tours in the local area. Florian has contacts with mountain guides who can arrange hiking and treks for you as well.

The Food
We serve vegetarian Albanian cuisine made from organic food grown right here in or garden and orchard. Breakfast is included in your booking. A typical breakfast includes homemade bread, homemade jam, cheese, tomato and green onion.

A Vegetarian dinner is 8 Euros per person per night with a complimentary glass of wine. Chicken and Fish are an additional 2 Euros. 1L homemade wine can be purchased for an additional 8 Euros (* lunches can be arranged/ordered at an additional cost)
We serve our own homemade wine. Also, Raki is the traditional spirit of the region, is made from grape mash. Florian's father has been making wine and raki for almost 50 years. These libations are made from the grapes that are organically grown on our property. There is a 2 euros fee for raki after dinner.

By request, we can arrange for a rental cars, minibus, private car and transfers. Delivery of a rental car can also be arranged for you.
Having a dinner party? The guest-house is a fantastic way to connect with our local culture and tradition. Our guests enjoy delicious and healthy local foods grown right here in the guesthouse. Want to do a wine tour or wine tasting? You can sample wines under the canopy of the grapevines in our front yard.

Florian's sister, a professional chef with decades of restaurant experience offers a traditional Albania cooking class.

For groups of 4 or more who are not staying overnight at our property, we provide free transportation to and from your place of accommodation in Shkoder, to join us for our famous fun dinner gathering.* fees above apply.

Please note: We are super flexible! If you arrive early and just want to drop your bags off or check in early or out late then this is absolutely fine. Please let us know so we can arrange this.

Directions
If driving follow signs to Dobraç.
Walking? Use this suburban road towards the Telecommunication Mast. Florian Guesthouse is about 100 meters before this mast. Look for the gray colored gate.
A local taxi can be arranged to take you to (from) the Florian's Guesthouse; the center of town is about 500ALL (Leke) (approx 4.10€).
