Located directly on the Ocean with the Ocean just steps away our nice sandy beach awaits you with dance area and bar.
Laundry facilities.
Good Internet.
Meals available in upstairs bar and kitchen.
Small kitchen downstairs you can use.


Payment will be by cash only.

Check in time: 1pm to 8pm
Check out time: 12 pm.
Reception will be open from 1pm to 8pm.

We also provide Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner during the high season.
We do breakfast all year.
Always ready with coffee in the Morning too.






Carnival officially starts on Friday and finishes Wednesday morning around 3 am.
Our guests over the years have mentioned how nice it is to get away from it and come back to the beach for a bit then dive back into it.

Smoking on the premises is permitted in the open air upstairs lounge area.

My friends and I stayed at La Tortuga for Carnaval. Since we were on a budget we emailed the owner asking if we could sleep two to a bed to cut cost. Which he agreed to. So we booked, on hostel world, two people per bed for two nights. However when we arrived we were told it wasn’t hostel policy to sleep two to a bed, and even though we had written agreement from him that he said it was fine, he charged us for extra beds. Because it was an inconvenience to us he reduced the $100 stay to $80.

Great vibe and the staff was super helpful in helping up around town and giving us advice. A great place to stay for Carnival.

Although the hostel is located outside the city center, it is easy enough to get there by cab ($7 USD to Playa Estero). La Tortuga sits right on the beach and is a peaceful, quiet place to rest, read with a coffee, or have a beer in a hammock. The owners, Rod and Yari, are welcoming and talkative and will help you feel right at home. Try one of Rod’s fish dinners or have Yari teach you some helpful Spanish phrases! Thanks you guys for the relaxing stay. I’ll be back for a coffee and a chat!
