When an African girl and a Cretan guy decide to open a hostel! Kumba happens! We created Kumba with the idea of integrating the African and Cretan cultures into a one world friendly Hostel. Kumba is located in the heart of Chania, where you can enjoy the old city vibes on a budget.
Kumba is located in the picturesque town of Chania just 1,2 km from the Venetian Harbour and 500 m from Koum Kapi beach. We have a bus stop just outside our door steps making it easy to get around and see what Chania has to offer.
We offer 5 dormitories, 6 private rooms and a cafe bar that has the best coffee around! All rooms are uniquely designed to maximise comfort and to ensure our friends have everything they need.
We have a small shared kitchenette area.

Cancellation policy: 7 days before arrival.
Check in from 15:00 to 23:00.
Check out from 07:00 to 12:00.

Nice place, a little bit out of the center, which was actually good for me. Really clean and good kitchen. The atmosphere is more of a bar I'd say but good anyway, just not the most social hostel. Nice staff and good coffee!

From the hostel you have to walk just more less 15 minutes to go in the centre of Chania.

This was probably one of the most social hostels I've ever stayed at making it great for solo travel. Staff was very freindly and willing to help with planning day trips and transportation. I liked the capsule style beds since it made it easier to get up early or return late without disturbing sleeping people (each bed had a curtain to block light). I only wish I could have stayed longer!
