You will hear the water running with the movement of the shikaras (little boats) passing by. You will enjoy the view of stunning mountains surrounding Dal Lake. You will awake feelings long time forgotten in this charming accommodation.
Staying in a houseboat it is a very special experience. Here you will be able to observe the slow life flowing around the lake: fishermen, floating gardens, boats, etc, everything happens around you, your senses will be delighted with so much beauty and harmony. Staying with hanif and his family was an experience we’ll never forget. The house boat is within a community of boats tucked away from the chaos of the city. Each morning we started the day watching the wide array of birds with delicious kashmiri kahwa. Hanif was staying a short boat ride away where we spent time getting to know his wonderful family. We did a day long boat tour which was an amazing experience, our only complaint is we wish we had more time!

Highly recommend a stay in this houseboat if visiting Srinagar. Gulshan ji who owns the house boat is an amazing person and she made me feel like I am part of her own family. Gulshan aunty will give a free shikara ride to her house boat from Dal lake ghat 7 if you call directly to her number (9086877994) after booking with hostel world. A boat comes and collects the trash in every houseboat to keep Dal Lake clean. Totally loved the sunrise views, serene and peaceful surroundings near houseboat.
