Guesthouse Maria

Can’t really fault this guesthouse, nice room & a fully equipped kitchen. Location is great for the bus station & a pleasant 30 mins walk to old town. Maria is also an absolute dream, very nice lady.

Guesthouse Maria is in fact a 3 bedroom flat with 1 shared bathroom and a living/dining/kitchen room. I had the whole place to myself for the 2 nights I stayed, so in terms of value for money 26 euros was fantastic for having all that to myself! The lovely owner Maria lives just downstairs and was super friendly. In terms of location, it was perfect for me being about 15 mins walk to the bus station. Getting to the famous old town required a longer walk - around 25 mins but for me being obsessed with my daily step count, that was fine. There are also numerous buses on the doorstep one can take if they prefer not to walk. Overall, Dubrovnik is stupidly expensive and not for a money-conscious traveller so I didn’t want to stay long but out of the options there are, this served its purpose very well and made for a relaxing couple of nights. It’s very easy to cook in the well equipped kitchen and there are supermarkets within 5 mins walk so it’s easy to save money doing your own cooking here.
