Generator Hamburg is a design hotel-hostel located in the city centre, next to the Hauptbahnhof. Guests can choose from shared dorms to private rooms, offering something for everyone. Complete with 24-hour reception, free wifi, bikes available for hire and a popular bar, Generator is a fun and affordable choice in Hamburg.
All guests under 18 need to book a private room at Generator Hamburg. And you will need to have written permission from a parent or a guardian
St. Georg is one of the coolest and most central areas in Hamburg and this is where you will find Generator.
It's right next to the central train station in the city center. On the doorstep are great attractions such as Deichtorhallen, Landungsbruecken, Harbour City as well as the historical Speicherstadt or the famous Reeperbahn.
When you have seen and done it all head back to Generator and soak up the atmosphere. It's a destination in its own and a great place to socialise and reflect on your experiences of the day.
Head to the bar and chill out areas to get yourself a well deserved drink or. We have also great beds for sleepy heads and of course you will be enjoying Hamburg life in the most stylish and authentic surroundings.
Choose from a great selection of rooms private and shared rooms like Single- , Twin- and Double rooms as well as Quads, six & eight bed dormitories. All of our rooms are en-suite. Our dorm beds even come with innovative mod cons like power socket, USB ports and your own LED light for late night reading. Fast and free Wi-Fi is all yours too.

Any reservation of 10 people or more per night will be considered a group with different terms and conditions. Groups reservations can only be made through our reservations team, and Generator reserves the right to cancel it otherwise

In case of no show or late cancellation, the total amount of the full booking will be charged unless the property is informed of late arrival by the guest.
Please note that for free cancellation bookings, all credit cards provided at time of booking may be charged 7 hours prior to arrival.
PETS
We would welcome a dog on property but only when staying in a private room, and subject to a € 25.00 fee per dog per Stay. Only Dog under 75lbs./ 34kg

The location in perfect for visiting the city but the neighborhood is not very safe. Moreover in the hostel any measure is taken in order to keep bad people outside. For example: trough the elevator you can reach any floor without having to use the card so basically everyone (also external from the hostel) can go upstairs. I stayed in a 6 female room and apart from the bathroom which was very very small, the room had enough space. Acceptable cleaning standards.

The hostel is in a good position to visit the city but the services are poor. In the description is written they have meals, not true. They have laudry, out of order. Check-in is super long and rooms are not very clean. If you are trying to stay cheap and you don't want to always eat out, don't go there: they don't serve meals but they don't have kitchen or microwaves either. So: beds and rooms may be quite cheap, but you'll be disappointed on many occasions.

Not a relaxed stay. I was house hunting in Hamburg and hated every minute of it. Everything about this hostel is chaotic and does not give you the peace of mind you need to actually be doing things. First of all, it's huge, so lots of people coming and going always crowding communal spaces. Loud music often blaring. There is no kitchen.band everything is a hidden charge: from rooms to keep large suitcases that don't fit in the lockers to late checkout. Hated the experience, not recommended
